The Queen’s Beasts Completer Coin: Why This Final Issue Is a Must-Have
The Queen’s Beasts Completer was released by the Royal Mint in 2021 to close out one of the most successful modern coin series ever produced. It features all ten heraldic beasts in a single intricate design and has become the centrepiece of any Queen’s Beasts holding.
The numbers tell the story. NGC PF70 1oz gold examples that initially traded at around £2,200 are now changing hands at £5,000 to £7,000, premium expansion that has comfortably outpaced the underlying gold price moves.
Demand is being driven by collectors trying to complete their Queen’s Beasts holdings. Without the Completer, a set is not a set, which creates persistent buying pressure from a defined and growing collector base.
Design complexity also limits supply at the top grades. Fitting ten detailed creatures into one die is hard, and the proportion of the mintage achieving NGC PF70 is lower than for the simpler single-beast designs.
As CGT-free legal tender, the Completer carries the same tax advantages as other Royal Mint gold coins. Its position as the capstone of a closed series is what gives it the additional collectibility.
We hold limited inventory of NGC PF70 Completer coins. Availability is becoming the issue rather than price.
